What the wellness industry failed to mention.

The missing piece in midlife health isn't another plan—it's a different relationship with yourself.

What if the problem was never discipline?

If you’re a woman in midlife, you’ve probably noticed something the wellness industry never prepared you for.

The strategies that got you here aren’t necessarily the strategies that will carry you forward.

Your body is changing.

Your nervous system is changing.

Your priorities are changing.

Your capacity is changing.

And perhaps most importantly...

The woman you’re becoming is changing.

Yet the wellness industry keeps handing you the same playbook.

Push harder.

Eat less.

Try again.

Be more disciplined.

And so you do.

You show up.

You start over.

You make another plan.

You blame yourself when it doesn’t stick.

But after more than thirty years in health and wellness, here’s what I know:

Most women don’t have a discipline problem.

They have a self-leadership problem.

The women who experience deep health aren’t the ones chasing better rules.

They’re the ones building a better relationship with themselves.

They’re learning to lead themselves.

They’re learning to consistently honor themselves.

They’re learning to make choices that increasingly reflect the woman they’re devoted to being.

That’s where deep health begins.

And that’s what this space, A Little Bit of Grace & Grit, is all about.

Hi, I’m Courtney.

I’m an award-winning author, speaker, coach, and host of the Grace & Grit Podcast.

My award-winning book, The Consistency Code: A Midlife Woman’s Guide to Deep Health & Happiness, received an Independent Publisher Book Award (IPPY) in the Women’s Issues category. The IPPY Awards are among the longest-running and most respected honors celebrating excellence in independent publishing.

For more than three decades I’ve helped women improve their health from the cell to the soul.

And the longer I do this work, the more convinced I become that women don’t struggle because they don’t know enough.

They struggle because information doesn’t change lives.

Embodiment does.

Real transformation happens in ordinary moments.

The 9 p.m. negotiation.

The stressful Tuesday.

The season when life falls apart.

The moments no protocol can anticipate.

My work isn’t about helping you follow a better plan.

It’s about helping you become the kind of woman whose daily choices naturally reflect her deepest values.

Because when your choices are in greater integrity with who you are...

Health changes.

Confidence changes.

Energy changes.

Relationships change.

Life changes.

Ready to move from information to embodiment?

Become a paid subscriber and join me inside Live the Code, where I’ll invite you into my own practice of living in greater alignment with the woman I’m devoted to being—and help you begin writing and living your own code.

Why Live the Code?

As I approach my fiftieth birthday, I’ve realized something.

I don’t need another list of goals.

I don’t need another plan.

I don’t need more information.

I need deeper embodiment.

I’ve spent the first fifty years of my life proving that I’m capable.

I want to spend the next fifty living in greater alignment with the woman I’m devoted to being.

That’s what Live the Code is.

It’s my commitment to practicing my own work in public.

Every week I’ll share what I’m wrestling with...

Where I’m drifting out of alignment...

The questions I’m asking...

The experiments I’m running...

The lessons I’m learning...

And the practices helping me return to myself.

My hope isn’t that you’ll watch me live my code.

My hope is that you’ll write—and live—your own.

Because I don’t believe we need another set of rules.

I think we need greater clarity about the way we’re devoted to living.
